How does the ring network cabinet work?

A standard operating procedure usually includes:

Normal operation: all load switches are in the closed state, and power flows smoothly through the ring network.

Fault isolation: When a certain outgoing line (such as a line connected to a transformer) has a permanent fault, the high-voltage fuse will blow quickly, triggering the load switch linked with it to automatically open, accurately isolating the fault line, while other parts of the ring network continue to operate.

Scheme switching: When maintenance is needed or the main power supply is out of power, the operator can manually or remotely operate the on/off of the related incoming, outgoing and contact switches to realize flexible switching of power supply paths and ensure different power cuts.

When designing and selecting the ring network cabinet, we mainly pay attention to the following core parameters, which are usually marked on the equipment nameplate:

Rated voltage: such as 12kV, indicating the design voltage level of the equipment.

Rated current: such as 630A, which determines the maximum current carrying capacity for normal operation.

Short-term withstand current: for example, 20kA/3s represents the ability of equipment to withstand the thermal effect of short-circuit current.

Protection grade: such as IP67, indicating the tightness of dust and water prevention of the shell.

Type of operating mechanism: spring operating mechanism is the most common.

The running ring network cabinet needs to follow strict safety regulations:

It must be operated by professionals with high-voltage electrician certificates.

During operation, the "Five Preventions" interlock (to prevent the circuit breaker from opening and closing by mistake, to prevent the disconnector from opening and closing with load, etc.) shall be strictly implemented to ensure personal and equipment safety.

Regular inspection tour, through the observation window to check SF gas pressure, whether there is abnormal sound or fever in the cabinet, and whether the indicator light is normal.
